The world of golf shafts can be a daunting arena to step into, both for consumers and brands. While much of the segment is built upon tradition, brand recognition, Tour validation, as well as marketing promises, it can also be both trendy and open to new entrants wanting to create their own story.
That is precisely where ARETERA Golf finds itself, an emerging brand with lofty ambitions. However, the brain and design power behind this particular brand is much different than disruptors we have seen before. While in recent years we got a small taste of what they are capable of, their newest ARETERA EC1 shafts blend advanced materials and precision engineering to flex their muscles fully.

Yes, the claims of improved energy transfer, more downrange consistency, as well as feel that melds with function better than other premium options are large talking points, but the proof is always in the pudding. That, of course, is where the THP Community and the best forum testing anywhere comes in.
We joined forces with ARETERA to put an all-new ΣC1 driver and fairway wood shaft into the hands of five members of our community for long term ΣC1 Testing. Over eight weeks, golfers of all skills, speeds, and abilities put those ΣC1 setups in play which were fit for them directly by ARETERA. That extended feedback can be found in its entirety, here, however we also asked each participant to distill their experiences into a single candid snapshot which you can see below:

The ARETERA experience was top notch and my first at THP as I joined this spring. I am grateful for the opportunity that was presented and learned a lot about the brand, their shafts and my swing. Everything from my extensive chat with Chris about shafts, to the delivery, to putting the shafts into play was a smooth and easy process.
I ended up with an ΣC1 Gray 55/4 in my driver and an ΣC1 Blue 65/4 for my three wood. Both shafts were very different from my gamer shaft at time, the HZRDUS Black 4G 6.0.
"It was apparent shortly after the testing started that I gained some distance from each shaft."

I attribute this to a couple of factors: higher launch and a better fitting shaft for my abilities at this time. The Gray and Blue shafts are certainly different though, I feel like I can go after the Gray due to the stiffer tip, while the Blue offers a lot more head feel. I have had to adjust the three wood settings to compensate, so far so good.
All in all, I have put these shafts through their paces now for over three months now and they are staying in the bag. I enjoy the feel of the shafts working versus the “boards” I had been playing and would definitely recommend people give them a try at their next fitting.
